Looking to jump on a bandwagon? Meet the Dallas-area teams still alive that could break long droughts

After starting the season with more than 180 teams, the Dallas area is down to just 12.

Most of the teams you've seen before. All but two teams have gone this far in the last five years. For the two that haven't, some momentous school history could be in play.

Richland has already made a lot of it. After making the playoffs and winnings it first postseason game for the first time since 1984 last year, Richland's run to the regional final is the first in school history (according to records from Dave Campbell's Texas Football). It opened in 1961.

Kaufman, meanwhile, is back in the regional finals for the first time since 2008. If it can complete its run and win a state title, it will be the first in the school's history. Kaufman ISD was founded in 1904. But to do that, it will have to beat Kennedale, which is looking for its first state title of its own.

Here's a look at every team in the regional final and their title drought since the UIL started awarding a football state championship in 1920:
