Texas A&M pledge Caden Davis kicked a 57-yard field goal as time expired to give No. 8 Coppell a 30-28 win over No. 6 Sachse in a matchup of area-ranked 6A teams. Myles Nash scored on a 3-yard run with 21 seconds left to give Sachse a 28-27 lead. Davis also kicked field goals of 42 and 29 yards.

Jahari Rogers, Arlington
Rogers threw for 404 yards and seven touchdowns on 16-of-22 passing to lift Arlington to a 55-25 win over Jesuit. He threw an 8-yard TD pass to Trey Cleveland on the final play of the first half, then threw four TD passes after halftime as Arlington outscored Jesuit 31-3 in the second half.
FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS
DeSoto wins at Permian
Odessa Permian was made famous by the book and movie Friday Night Lights, but it was DeSoto QB Shun'Darion Ward who stole the spotlight. Ward threw for 357 yards and three TDs to lead DeSoto to a 38-28 win at Permian. Terrance Shaw clinched the win with a 42-yard TD run with 1:18 left.
STATEMENT WIN
Trinity dominates Midway
Euless Trinity went on the road and routed a Waco Midway team that was the 2017 Class 6A Division II state runner-up. Brandon Theus ran for 193 yards and three touchdowns to carry Trinity to a 37-7 win. Trinity led 9-7 at halftime, then outscored Midway 28-0 in the third quarter.
DISD STREAK ENDS
SOC holds off Skyline
South Oak Cliff used a dominant defense to win 10-7 and end Skyline's 32-game winning streak over Dallas ISD schools that dated back to 2006. South Oak Cliff sophomore Cameron Davis, fresh off the bench, provided the game-winning points with a 57-yard sweep around left end for a 10-7 lead in the third quarter.

Waxahachie wins big
Texas A&M pledge Demani Richardson and Jaden Watson combined to rush for 281 yards and five touchdowns as Waxahachie rolled past rival Ennis 54-32. The teams combined for 976 yards of total offense. It was Sam Harrell's return as Ennis' coach after battling multiple sclerosis.
BORDER BRAWL
Mansfield schools stumble in Oklahoma
Oklahoma schools won four of the five matchups in the "Border Brawl" against Mansfield ISD schools. Summit was the only Mansfield school to win, as Brysen McKinney accounted for five touchdowns in a 41-28 win over Sand Springs.
The best game was Tulsa Union's 36-30 win over Mansfield Lake Ridge. Lake Ridge quarterback Chandler Rogers accounted for 462 yards and four touchdowns, but Union's Darius Boone rushed for 148 yards and three touchdowns.
