It hasn't even been a month since Galena Park North Shore pulled the seemingly impossible, beating Duncanville 41-36 in the 6A state championship on a 45-yard Hail Mary heave. With plenty of returning talent on both sides, people have already floated the idea of a state championship rematch between the schools next December.

Maybe we won't have to wait that long -- with one exception.

The North Shore and Duncanville boys basketball teams were ranked as the top-two 6A teams in the state this week, according to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches rankings.

North Shore, at 19-1, holds the top spot. Duncanville (14-7) was ranked second after routing top 5A teams like Justin Northwest and Mansfield Timberview and beating former 6A No. 1 Denton Guyer 64-53 earlier this year.

Duncanville, led by future Texas Tech guard Jahmius Ramsey -- the No. 34 recruit in the country according to 247Sports -- will face off against Richardson Pearce, the eighth-ranked team in the state, on Tuesday.

The UIL state basketball championships will start run from March 7 through March 9 at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
